God revealed His purpose for us to become Christlike disciplers during our first Couples Intentional Discipleship session in 2020. As a result of us discipling our own family, we became more loving and respectful to each other. We learned how to embrace God's design in marriage of the husband as the spiritual leader of the family, and the wife as the helpmate to her husband. God transformed our children's entitled hearts into hearts that delight in obedience to the Lord and to us. God has given us the privilege to disciple other couples as well as our children in discipling other singles in our community. Just as what God had promised to those who make disciples—we are now more rested, we feel safe and sound, secure and at peace, even in the midst of challenges. Because we know that God’s manifest presence is with us 24/7!

We started our marriage journey with unmet expectations towards each other and prideful hearts. When we joined a couple’s intentional discipleship, we witnessed the authentic modeling of our disciplers that led us to imitate them. Indeed in obedience, there is a blessing. God transformed us to have humble and obedient hearts, to follow God’s design, and live our roles as husband and wife to please and honor God. God’s blessing poured out on us, not just in material aspects but also in harmonious relationships in our family, workplace, and friends. God also gave us the heart to lead a couple’s intentional discipleship, and we’re currently leading a couple and obeying God’s mission of making disciples. We are grateful for witnessing the transformation of our fellow believers here in CCF Illinois and being part of the movement, and being Christlike. God continuously humbles us as we witness lives transformation of the couples entrusted to us, knowing our members are also our accountability buddies as well. Our daily motivation is that God can use us as His vessel to bless others and faithfully model Christlikeness!
